The possibilities for using Citric Acid are very diverse: it is at the same time a food additive (E330), an additive in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, an acidifier for soft drinks and a pH regulator. It is also an anti-limescale (decalcifies, cleans and dissolves lime) and a great antioxidant.

Citric acid is one of the most common acids found in plants and is also present in almost all fruits, wood, mushrooms and even tobacco. Lemon juice contains 5% to 7%.

It plays a central role in the metabolism of all living organisms; the human body produces about 2 g a day and breaks it down again.

Dilute 1 to 2 tablespoons of citric acid in 1 L of cold water and use this solution to descale the coffee maker and kettle. Rinse with clean water. This solution can also be used to descale faucets, showers and water reducers.

To descale a washing machine, use 6 to 8 CS citric acid in the drum and circulate at 90 °C.
