“Wet” method - For this method you will need a container with a lid (optional, just not to be visible, but never to close completely) in which to place the used dressings. Fill the pool with cold water and put the used pads in it. The pool water must be renewed every day. There are women who use this water to pour on the plants, if you don't want to, just pour it down the drain. On wash day (after 3 days) discard the water and place the pads inside the washing machine. Close Cover the pool, but do not close it completely (air circulation required). You can wash in the washing machine together with other items and put your towels inside a mesh bag, so they don't get “lost” in the middle of the clothes during washing.

“Dry” method - For this method you only need a waterproof bag (or another type of pool of your choice) that you can hang on the bathroom door, for example. Place the used dressings in the bag as you use them, after a maximum of 3 days you must wash them. When using outside the home, you will need a small waterproof pouch to store used dressings. It is not mandatory, but it helps if, at the end of using each dressing, you pass it through cold water and soap so that most of the blood comes out; put it to dry (it can be in the bathroom) and after it is dry put it in the bag to wash. You can wash in the washing machine together with other items and put your towels inside a mesh bag, so they don't get “lost” in the middle of the clothes during washing.

Persistent Stains - Before washing, it is helpful to soak the reusable dressings for a few hours in water with a little active oxygen-based stain remover. Lastly, it also helps to put the dressings to dry in the sun.

- Choose a good detergent, preferably one that is not too aggressive.

- Do a pre-wash (this is not a case of not rinsing each use) before mixing again.

- Avoid using too much detergent, to prevent its residue from clogging the fibers, which will cause absorption problems.

- Do an extra rinse if you feel the fabrics still have detergent residues.

- A wash at 40° is enough.

- Avoid using chlorine bleach, which spoils fiber and can destroy your menstrual pads.

- Does not use fabric softener, it can clog like fibers.

- Place in the sun to remove stains or use active oxygen-based stain remover.

- If you need to refresh your dressings after they have not been used for a while, you can add white vinegar to the wash and do an extra rinse.

- If by chance you develop any fungus while using your reusable menstrual pads, we recommend that you use the bleach in the wash (follow the package recommendations for machine washing).
